The Golden Rope

I recently had an encounter with the Lord and it's not something I initially wanted to share but if it can wake you up like it woke me up, the world will be better for it. The encounter showed me a sobering and terrible truth, accompanied by a stern command from the Lord. I'll try my best to describe and explain what happened.
The Encounter
I was in the spirit standing and before me I saw a beautiful golden rope extending forward into black darkness. I was standing outside of the darkness and the Lord was with me. There seemed to a separation between where I was and where the darkness started. The rope was thick and intertwined, glowing gold and beautiful. I don't have the words to describe it, honestly, only that it was the most beautiful object I've ever seen. As I looked into the darkness, I saw that wherever the rope was, the glow from it illuminated that path. I knew the Lord was beside me (to my left) watching with me but I couldn't see Him.
Suddenly, hands began to pull the rope in and pulled for a short while until it was reigned in (I can't remember if I pulled the rope or the Lord did) but attached to the end of the rope that came from the darkness, was a very small, very unimpressive bucket. The bucket I could tell was supposed to be white but it was dusty. As I looked into it, I saw that it was empty so I began to inquire of the Lord and I asked first about the golden rope and He said that the rope was the Gospel. I asked about the bucket and why it looked like it had been sitting somewhere catching dust and He revealed to me that the bucket was a vessel for the harvest of souls each person brings into the kingdom.
I came out of the spirit and I heard the Spirit of the Lord say "The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few."
Shortly after that, I was in the spirit again and the Lord appeared above me. He descended to me and touching my lips with something (I'm not sure what). Then He pointed toward the darkness and said sternly, "Go!"
What It All Means
First of all, I was and still am WRECKED. Just WRECKED.
As I reflected on what I experienced, the Lord began to deal with me about what it all meant. The darkness I saw is the world. It is where those who do not know Jesus dwell. It is a place devoid of hope and it's where God has called the church to go.
God reminded me that it is my responsibility as a disciple of Jesus Christ to share the Good News that set me free...that is my whole overarching purpose in life. As I did some introspection, I realized that I have not been faithful with obeying that one command that Jesus gave to His disciples and to His church.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
My bucket is empty and neglected. And what a tragedy that is! I have forgotten my one true mission on this earth and that is to make disciples. I had to repent. I repented for my disobedience and I repented for being ashamed of the Gospel and for ever giving my past permission to silence me.
Collectively, we the church of Jesus Christ are charged with the same command that Jesus gave to His disciples but are we really obeying that command? We must awake from our slumber, see the harvest and get to work.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV
The Takeaway
It's an awesome thing if you're called to go to the nations to preach the Gospel but the harvest is plentiful right here at home too. It's plentiful at our jobs, it's plentiful in our neighbourhoods, it's plentiful in our schools, it's plentiful in our prisons. But will we go?
I want us to remember these things in reference to the Gospel:
There has only been and will only ever be one way to win souls and make disciples and that is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul calls it "the power of God that brings salvation".
As the church of Jesus Christ, we must remember that making disciples is our ultimate purpose and mission on this earth.
We will have to give an account for our days on this earth and only what we have done with and for God, will matter. So I ask, what is in your bucket?
I pray that as believers we obey the command of the Lord, I pray that we storm the darkness with our light and preach the Good News. I pray that our buckets become large, clean vats full of a bountiful harvest that pleases God. I pray that we become loud lights in this dark world and change nations by our obedience.
Who will go?
Who will go?
I write these words soberly, burdened by the gravity of it all. Lord, I ask You today for clean hands and a pure heart, for God-ordered steps and a surrendered heart. I pray for grace and boldness to do this work.
P.s. I earnestly ask that you keep me in your prayers as I navigate this journey and yield to God's plan.
