Last week, I found myself in a constant state of worry over things that I had no control over. My worrying was a perpetual cycle that I couldn't seem to get out of. It was worry that was rooted in the fear that God would not come through for me. I was burnt out, exhausted and looking for an escape from my problems.

I had this blog post (with the exception of these first two paragraphs) sitting in my Google documents for about a week now and did not post it because I was too busy worrying and over thinking and not resting like I had written in this blog post. I've finally begun to let go of my life and my plans only to realise that these words that God gave me are true and because I am His child, He will take care of me and He'll do the same for you.

I realise now that my exhaustion was the result of striving and one does not strive in the flesh when it comes to kingdom living.

We are not servants who work hard for morsels but sons and daughters who have access to all that is the Father's.

Servants strive but sons rest. Resting is not laziness, nor is it even a physical state. Resting is a position of the heart. Recognising that God loves you, not in a general, "God loves everyone" kind of way. No. He loves YOUUU. Just as you are. You with the doubt and the double-mindedness, you with the "secret" sin. He loves YOU, with all your anxiety and fear of the future. He loves YOU. He loves you. He accepts you. He wants what's best for you. He protects you. He guides you. He admonishes you. He gives freely to you. Access - You are a son/daughter. We are heirs of God and coheirs with Christ. All that belongs to God belongs to us as well. All that Christ has inherited, we share in that. We have been adopted into the family of God and He is our Father. When we live from that position, we understand that ALL ACCESS has been granted. “For even as the veil was torn in the temple as My Son was crucified, I removed every obstacle that hindered you from experiencing My fullness. ALL ACCESS was granted. I long for you to know all that I AM and to experience the fullness of My presence.” ~God As we come into the knowledge of sonship, we understand that we live in a state of perpetual provision. An excellent example of this is the story of the prodigal son. This lesson is not found in the interaction of the father and the prodigal but the father and the son who never left. Instead of being happy that his brother had returned home, he became bitter because of the welcome the prodigal received. ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’ He didn’t understand his position as a son so he complained about not having access to something that was already his to begin with (the goat and fattened calf). Isn’t that just like us? We get upset and bitter because we don’t have enough or we get angry with God not realizing that we already have ownership of all that we are striving and fighting and worrying for. We often go to God just like this son, saying “You never gave me…” and God’s response is just like the Father’s. Friends, I pray that you get this. In one statement, God’s heart was shown and the complete work of the cross displayed.

Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8:17 NIV“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

                              "MY SON"

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave THE RIGHT to become children of God— CHILDREN BORN NOT OF NATURAL DESCENT, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born (made new) of God (by the Spirit of God). John 1:12‭-‬13 NIV Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:6 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15 When we confess Jesus Christ, we literally move from being enemies of God to being CHILDREN of God. That means you are a son/daughter of the Most High. The father’s response in the story was to first speak identity to his son (My Son) and He wants to do the same thing for us. A SON/DAUGHTER OF GOD IS WHO YOU ARE and it’s only from that position that you can accept the rest of the father’s statement. We were born again into the family of God by the Spirit of God. We are His offspring and we must believe that truth in order to live an ‘All Access Granted’ life. You are no longer a slave, you are no longer in bondage to sin but you are a son/daughter. You are a part of the family of God and as a result, you are afforded privileges only a son has access to.                 "YOU ARE ALWAYS WITH ME" ...And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth….I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. (John 14:15-20) We have the Spirit of Christ is in us as believers. While Jesus walked the earth, He said that He would not leave us as orphans but that He would give us the gift of the Holy Spirit and we would realize that He is in us. In another passage, Paul calls it a rich mystery, the fact that Christ Himself now lives within every believer. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. Yet again, Christ solidified our identity as sons and daughters. He said He would not not leave us as orphans (children without parents) but that He would be with us forever by His Spirit. We have freedom and access to the presence of God. The Bible says that we can come boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. When the curtain in the temple was torn, it represented just that. We can enter the Holy of Holies being washed by the blood of Jesus and experience the fullness of God’s presence. You don't have to beg for time or attention from God. That is your right and privilege as His son or daughter. So I encourage you today to live in the knowledge of this truth and to enter boldly into the presence of your Father, believing that He loves you, wants to spend time with you and enjoys when you seek Him out.

            "EVERYTHING I HAVE IS YOURS"

All that belongs to the Father is mine... John 16:15a “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:25-34) We are co-heirs along with Christ and we have an inheritance that is immeasurable. Therefore, let's not forget, that God is a good Father and He lovingly takes care of His children. Jesus said that He knows our needs and He will provide. Our main focus is to seek the kingdom of God first and foremost and everything you need will be provided for you. Provision is not something that should be a point of worry for us as believers. This is just another way God pours out His love for us. God takes care of His own. There is no place for worry because GOD PROVIDES, whether it's a material need or an intangible need. He provides. It is only when we move from that position of sonship and allow jealousy, striving and envy to rob us of the good God has for us that we end up worrying about provision.

We don't have to live like that. We can walk in full assurance knowing that we have what we need, knowing that if we seek His kingdom first, all things will follow.

So rest. Know that you have a Father who loves you and who takes care of His own. Rest. It is your right as a son or daughter of God.

You are God's child.  Because Jesus became a sacrifice for your sin, you have full access to God's presence and full access to His provision. So rest.
